Ridding oneself of tobacco is a daunting task and your partner deserves congratulations. In your role of supporter, you could recognize your partner’s efforts with a certificate or by sending an encouraging message by e-mail or text messaging... Why not?

Hanging up the gloves?

Make sure to not get angry or abandon your partner! Like all good coaches, help your partner understand that it’s possible to lose one round without losing the fight and that it’s good to take things day by day. Relapsing today does not mean doing the same tomorrow. What’s important is to not stop trying.

Precious Resources

To improve your partner’s chances of success in being free from cigarettes, remind him/her that the Challenge offers a range of resources and services. You, too, can check them out.

  • QuitChallenge.ca: tips and advice, testimonials, forum, downloadable tools and much more!
  • The Jean Coutu "To the Rescue Kit", available at PJC Jean Coutu branches. It contains tools, practical advice, information and a few surprises.
  • The Ligne J’Arrête helpline (1-866-527-7383, bilingual counselors available) and Quit Smoking Centres (page in French). These are personalized services designed to meet the needs of those trying to quit smoking.
  • The Ligne j'Arrête helpline counsellors who can answer your questions.
