Live smoke-free, and be good to yourself

Encouraging success stories!

Tip of the month
Every week, commit to doing something you enjoy. Write the activity in your agenda as if it were an appointment and honour it! Think about yourself – do something nice for yourself. You deserve it!

Live smoke-free, and be good to yourself

There are many benefits to quitting smoking for you and those around you, including:

  • Enjoying an evening with friends without having to keep nipping out for a smoke
  • Taking a stroll or engaging in sports without getting winded
  • Savouring the taste of food
  • Saving a tidy sum after 11 months… around $1,500 for someone who smoked 15 cigarettes a day
  • Giving your friends, children, grandchildren and spouse a smoke-free environment

With your improved health and your savings, it's even easier to indulge in a few little pleasures. Make them part of your day. And write them down as "must-do" items in your agenda so you don't forget!

So what appeals to you? Lingering in a bookstore, a little shopping, a tennis game with your best friend, a coffee at the local bistro, a regular workout at the gym, watching the hockey game on TV with friends, making jewellery…?

Denyse, Sainte-Adèle

"I have more time to play with my kids. I no longer have to say to them, ‘Just let me finish my cigarette and I’ll be right there.’ I breathe better and I’ve taken up jogging, which I love!"
Isabelle, Sainte-Clotilde

"I much prefer the feeling of a bike ride or just walking my dog than the feeling cigarettes gave me!"
Sonia, Laval

"I’m so proud of myself. My life is much better. I look at my daughters and I know I give them hope. I want to spend many years watching them grow up."
Caroline, Lévis
