Be active every day
Introducing physical activity to your daily life is a great way to spend more energy. You don’t need to run the marathon! The equivalent of a 45-minute walk at a brisk pace, on most days of the week, is enough to increase your fitness level and your caloric output.
- Run your errands on foot; return that video rental on your bike, etc.
- If you take the bus or metro, get off a stop or a station before your final destination.
- Go for a walk at lunchtime or at the end of the day.
- Take the stairs instead of the elevator.
- If you play golf, forego the cart for a 9-hole game.
- Walk the dog.
- Meet your friends for a walk in the park instead of going for coffee.
- Make time for an activity you love; write it down in your planner.
- Play outside with your children.
