FAQ

Cessation aids

  • Can I use pharmacological aids such as nicotine patches, gum or lozenges, or even varenicline or bupropion pills during the Challenge?
Of course! Using pharmacological aids is actually a very good idea since they can greatly improve your chances of success! And don’t worry, using one or another of these products will not affect the screening test.

  • Do public and private drug insurance plans cover pharmacological aids to quit smoking?
Yes. The cost of most pharmacological aids, when prescribed by a physician, may be reimbursed by public or private insurance plans. Find out about this from your physician or pharmacist.

Even though patches, gum, and lozenges are sold without a prescription, a physician must prescribe the treatment if you want to obtain reimbursement from an insurance plan.
