Dear new non-smokers,
The Quit to Win! Challenge starts this morning – and I’m proud that we’re taking up the challenge together, as a group.
Remember, the Challenge is a winning formula: over 276,000 people have taken part in it over the last 10 years, and of those, 2 out of 3 have succeeded in not smoking during the 6 weeks that it lasts.
Speaking personally, this isn’t my first attempt at quitting, and even though I’ve made up my mind to do it, I know it won’t necessarily be easy… On the other hand, thanks to the support of my sponsor, and of course the motivation to quit at the same time as all of you, I’m convinced that I too am going to successfully take up the Challenge.

For the entire 6 weeks, a number of tools will be available to help us stay on course:
- The Jean Coutu “To the rescue” support kit, handed out free of charge at PJC Jean Coutu branches. Tools, practical advice, information and surprises can all be found inside. If you haven’t already done so, go pick one up today by presenting your Challenge registration confirmation.
- The Web site QuitChallenge.ca, which includes tips, advice, downloadable tools and a dynamic and motivating community.
- The ligne j'Arrête helpline – 1 866 jarrête (527-7383) – which lets you direct questions about your efforts to quit to seasoned counselors, by telephone or in writing.
- The Quit Smoking Centre in your region, where they offer personalized services answering to your needs.
